The Service
ScholarSecondBrain provides personal writing-memory tools for scholars, including publication-list Seeding, Markdown ingestion, human admission into a private catalog, Scholar-correctable enrichment, cited chat over admitted content, and export features. Pilot, beta, and coming-soon features may be incomplete.
What the Service is not
- A blank-page paper generator that invents scholarly writing without your admitted corpus.
- A PDF warehouse or public host for other people’s paywalled content.
- A ResearchGate- or Academia-style social network, or an ongoing chat middleman.
- GrantMemory, a center-admin product, a full Zotero or EndNote replacement, or an institutional repository.
- A scraper of ResearchGate or Google Scholar citation pages.
Your content and responsibilities
You retain ownership of your uploads, Markdown bodies, notes, and other content. You grant us a limited license to host, process, transmit, display, and create technical forms of that content solely to provide and secure the Service and as you direct.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to upload content, including coauthored-work, publisher, and IRB constraints that apply. You must not upload malware, seek access to another Scholar’s Private catalog, or use the Service unlawfully.
Admission, visibility, and AI
Pending items are not available for cited chat until you admit them. The Service distinguishes Published Works from Working Material, which must not be presented as published. If you make content Public, you understand it may be visible to the world.
Automated outputs can be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You must review outputs before relying on them in publications, theses, grant text, teaching materials, or public claims. The Service does not provide legal, accounting, tax, medical, regulatory, or academic-committee advice.
Privacy promise
Your catalog is private by default. We will not use Private content or Working Material to train public foundation models without a separate explicit opt-in. We provide export and deletion paths as described in the Privacy Policy.
Fees, trials, and payment
Fees are based on the personal plan you select. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled unless stated otherwise. We may offer a time-limited trial, such as about 14 days. Exact checkout, cancellation, tax, refund, and auto-renewal terms will be finalized before a paid launch.
Disclaimers and limits
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. It is not guaranteed to be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for your research, writing, or career goals. The governing-law, dispute, indemnity, and liability provisions remain subject to attorney review and completion before publication.
